- July 16-20, 2008 - South Padre Island, Texas: Sea Turtle, Inc. - At this TIDES Partner Institution, staff toured, photographed, and filmed at Sea Turtle, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to education, research, and rehabilitation for the preservation of sea turtles and their environment.
- July 9-14, 2008 - Oaxaca, Mexico: Teacher Expedition - Staff and K-12 educators traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico in order to create virtual expeditions and gather primary source documents to be added to the TIDES database and website.
