In this lesson plan, students will learn about the Angel of Independence, a monument located in Mexico City, as well as the meaning of the sculptures which surround it. They will also learn how it became a mausoleum for Mexican heroes who fought in the “War of Independence,” and about the lives and accomplishments of those buried there.

Closing
Each group of students will present what they have learned about the lives of the heroes in front of the class.
Evaluation
The teacher will evaluate the students based on their presentation and how well they understand the information presented to them.
