At the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler, Texas, we stop by the Jaguar exhibit to see what the third largest cat in the animal kingdom is up to. Jaguars can be found prominently in the rainforests of Central and South America, although there have been sightings as far north as Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, in the United States. They are spotted and closely resemble the leopard. The jaguar is a stalk and ambush predator that feeds only on meat. Its powerful bite allows it to even pierce the shells of armored reptiles. Some jaguars are also black, from a condition called melanism. These may appear solid black, but their spots can still be seen upon closer examination.
