American Bald Eagle
American Bald Eagle

At the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler,Texas we visit some American Bald Eagles, the national bird of The United States of America. Bald eagles are the only eagles unique to North America. They're called "bald eagles" because at one time the word bald actually meant "white," not "hairless." They live all over North America but mostly in Alaska and Canada. They feed mainly on fish (salmon is a delicacy), but also eat carrion or stolen kills made by other animals.
