• Hometown: I am a new resident of Lufkin, but I am originally from a very small town named Hull, in SE Texas, between Beaumont and Houston
• Family: Husband of 7 years, Thad, and our 3-year-old son
• Movie Star name (first pet + street you grew up on): Kitty CR 2022??
• Most embarrassing moment: My very first day as a new teacher a little boy came up to me at recess (after lunch, mind you) and asked if he could go to the restroom.  Not knowing our campus policy on going in and out of the building, I replied, “Oh, I don't know.   Go ask your teacher, sweetie.” With uge, terrified doe eyes he said, “But you are my teacher!” I have never felt worse in my life!
• If you could be a celebrity for a day, who whould you be? Paula Deen or Rachael Ray
• Favorite type of food: good old down home cooking/soul food
• Favorite article of clothing: big, baggy Old Navy PJ bottoms
• Least favorite chore: amything to do with the floors--sweeping, vacuuming, mopping
• Plain M&M's or Peanut? PEANUTS!!!
• Coffee or Tea? coffee--especially Café Au Lait from Café Du Monde

• Unexpected item found on Tides: I learned that Jesse Watkins' son-in-law, Capt. Robert W. Smith, killed Cherokee Chief Bowl at the Battle of Neches because he blamed him for his father-in-law's death. We learned about "The Bowl" last year and my students were so upset that he was killed during Mirabeau B. Lamar's term as president of the Republic of Texas. I can't wait to use the site and its links to teach more about this to my incoming students!
