In this six week project, students will make a family tree of both sides of their (real or imaginary) families. Students will use Spanish vocabulary and phrasing to describe their relationship to each family member and a short (one sentence long) description of each person. These family trees will be created using poster board or a large piece of paper.

For your six weeks project, you will do the following:

  • Make a family tree of both sides of your family (your family could be real or imaginary).
  • Write the names of each of your family members in this format:
  • First Name - Middle Name - Father’s Last Name - Mother’s Last Name (de Husband’s Father’s last name, if married woman)

  • Write their relationship to you.
  • Examples:
    Mi madre   Mi padre   Mi tía   Mi abuelo   Mi padrastro

  • Write a sentence describing each of them.
  • Examples:
    Él es alto.
    He is tall.

    Ella es paciente.
    She is Patient

    Tiene pelo negro.
    He has black hair

  • Write how old each person is.
  • Examples:
    Tiene ________ años.
    Tengo _______ años.

  • Create your family tree on a poster board or large piece of paper.
