Antonio Margil de Jesús. Felix de Espinosa accompanied the Domingo Ramón expedition in 1716 from Presidio de San Juan Bautista on the Rio Grande to establish a mission base in East Texas. Due to illness, Father Margil arrived in eastern Texas after the Domingo Ramón expedition established the first eastern Texas missions. | |  | |  |
