An 1839 letter in the George Aldrich Papers written by Charles A. Sewell to George Aldrich, denying that he ever sold arms to the Caddo Indians. Charles Sewell served as an U.S. Indian Agent. George Aldrich came to Texas before the Texas Revolution, formed a partnership with Robert Anderson Irion of Nacogdoches in land trade, and later became first county surveyor of Houston.
