Civil War era broadside from Huntsville, Texas; “Notice to Cotton Planters and Cotton Holders.” The broadside names the Assistant Assessor, Wm. R. Stapp and Deputy Collector, B. S. Wilson and addresses the weighing, assessing and taxing of cotton before it was sold or delivered to any state agent, including the state penitentiary.
